Taking an entirely differently approach from the blasting pop original, Marika Hackman’s toned down interpretation of Grimes’ ‘Realiti’, is the first of a full album of intriguing covers by the singer/songwriter. Set over moving keys and heavily delayed guitar tickles, pitched down backing vocals add to the uncanny atmosphere. Subtle rippling electronics and reversed samples sweep like brush strokes across a painting, adding depth and definition to the piece as it progresses.
